Frank Davis, Winterset

Frank J. Davis, 84, of Winterset died of complications due to a stroke at the Winterset Care Center North. Funeral services are today, Wednesday, May 1, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Bill Branson will officiate the services and burial will be at the Peru Cemetery.

He was born in Peru on Jan. 7, 1912 to John M. and Hannah E. (Twining) Davis. He married Melba Murry on Sept. 11, 1939 at St. Charles. He later married Doris Travis on Oct. 5, 1985 in Winterset. He wa a retired carpenter and a lifetime resident of Madison County. He had served in the United State Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Melba; one brother; two sisters; and one step-granddaughter.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Doris; one son, Dennis Davis and wife Ruth of Des Moines; one daughter, Kay Seward and husband Harold of Winterset; four stepsons, Monty McKeever and wife Betty of Winterset, Jerry McKeever and wife Alexis of Winterset, Robert McKeever and wife Debra of Winterset, and Larry McKeever and wife Sue of Peru; four grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Madison County Elderly Services (Meal Site) or to the family.
