Former Lorimor Resident Lived Past 21 Years Near Winterset
Mrs. Forrest Jordan died last Thursday at her home southwest of Winterset, where she had lived the past 21 years. Mrs. Jordan was 52 years of age and had been in ill health for the past 8 years.
She was the former Daisy Elizabeth Neely, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Neely and was born March 18, 1888 near Lorimor. Her early life was spent in that community. For several years she assisted with the publication of the Lorimor Journal under the editorship of H. L. Bishop.
As a young woman she became a member of the Methodist church in Lorimor, later transferring to the Methodist church of Winterset.
She was married on July 10, 1917 to Forrest Jordan. They were the parents of six children, Ward, Lee, Donald, Ralph, Carol and Treva all at home.
In addition to her husband and the six children, she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Neely of Winterset; six sisters, Mrs. C. D. Gardner of Mingo, Mrs. Gertrude Smith of Lorimor, Mrs. Eldon Wilson of Winterset, Mrs. Hazel Watkins of Freeport, Ill., Florence Neely and Vera Neely of Winterset; and three brothers, Frank Neely of DeCoto, California, Fred Neely of Des Moines and Ferol Neely of Alden.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Winterset Methodist church in charge of Rev. W. A. Samp, pastor. The Rev. M. R. Talley of Greenfield assisted with the service. Burial was made in Winterset Cemetery.
