Leona Arlene Welch, 89, of Iowa Falls died of pneumonia Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 28, at Church of Christ in Earlham, with burial following in Earlham Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham.

Mrs. Welch was born to Loran and Leona Kunkle Huggins on May 30, 1909, on the family farm in Guthrie County. She graduated from Redfield High School in 1927, and married Leonard Welch on June 5, 1928. They lived in the same home on Maple Street in Earlham until December 1996, when they moved to Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; her daughter, Elaine Arrowood of Iowa Falls; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
