Wayne E. Cummins, 77, died of heart complications, May 24, 1996 at Hospice Care Center South.
He was born in Union County and graduated from Lorimor High School. He was a farmer until moving to Des Moines in 1967. He worked at CBS as a mail dispatcher until retiring in 1982 when he moved to a farm near Peru.
He was a member of the Peru Methodist Church; a lifetime member of the Madison County Historical Society and a charter member of the Friendship Force of Greater Des Moines.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Ethyle; two daughter, Karen Allbee and Sharon Reynolds and husband, Jim; and four grandchildren.

May 7, 1996 Metro pg 5Wayne Cummins, 77, of Winterset died of a heart ailment Friday at Care Center South. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Peru United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Peru Cemetery.
Mr. Cummins was born in Union County and worked as a dispatcher for CBS in Des Moines from 1967 until 1982, when he moved to Winterset. He also was a retired farmer and a member of the Madison County Historical Society and Friendship Forces of Greater Des Moines.
He is survived by his wife, Ethyle; two daughters, Karen Albee and Sharon Reynolds, both of Des Moines; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
