CLARENCE CROFT BURIED AT WINTERSET

Funeral services were held Friday at the Bybee and Davis Funeral home in Knoxville for Clarence Croft, a native of Winterset, whose death occurred at a Des Moines Hospital April 3. The Rev. Paul P. Kniess of Knoxville officiated. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mr. Croft, who was 56 years of age, at his death, was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ross Croft of Winterset. He was born here March 29, 1906 and lived here until 1934, when he moved to Knoxville, where he spent the remainder of his life, except for a short time in Des Moines.

He was a veteran of World War II, having spent more than six years in the U.S. army, participating in the Naples-Foggio, Rome-Arno, southern France and German campaigns.

Surviving are three brothers, Stanley Croft of Winterset, Lowell Croft of Lancaster, Tex., and Donald Croft of Knoxville.
