Anna Eliza Kaye, daughter of Reuben and Mary Kaye, was born August 1, 1894, in Polk county, Iowa near Des Moines and departed this life at her home in Earlham, May 4, 1931, aged 36 years, nine months and three days.
September 25, 1913, she was married to J. O. Craven of Earlham.
In early womanhood she made a confession of faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and united with the Methodist church of Winterset later transferring her membership to the Friends church of Earlham. She was a firm believer in the principles of Christianity and was loyal to the church’s interest.
For some time she had been a semi-invalid, unable to meet many of the duties and obligations of any active life. With all her infirmities and physical sufferings, she has maintained an even temperament, cheerful disposition and hopeful outlook.
She was preceded in death by her father, one sister, and two brothers. There remains beside her husband, her mother, three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Carmichael of Patterson, Mrs. Edna Robinson of Winterset, Mabel Kaye of Norwalk, also two brothers, Charles and Ernest of Patterson, with a host of other relatives and friends.

Thursday, May 7, 1931Anna Eliza Kaye, daughter of Rueben and Mary Kaye was born on August 1, 1894 in Polk County, Iowa, near Des Moines and departed from this life at her home in Earlham on Monday May 4th, 1931 about 11 o’clock, at the age of 36 years, nine months and three days.
On September 25, 1913 she was united in marriage to J. O. Craven, of Earlham.
In early womanhood she made confession of faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Methodist Church of Winterset, later transferring her membership to the Friends Church of Earlham. She was a firm believer in the principles of Christianity and was loyal to the church’s interest and work.
For quite a while she has been a semi-invalid, unable to meet many duties and obligations of an active life. With all her infirmities and physical sufferings she has maintained an even temperament, cheerful disposition and hopeful outlook.
She had a premonition that this would be her last illness and that the death angel of life would soon release her from hands of the physical life, and she would enter into “Heaven or rest.”
She was preceded in death by her father, one sister, and two brothers. There remains besides her husband, her mother, three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Carmichael, of Patterson; Mrs. Edna Robinson, of Winterset; Mabel Kaye, of Norwalk; also two brothers, Charlie and Earnest, of Patterson, with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Earlham Friends Church, conducted by the pastor Rev. S. N. Hester. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery.
