Mrs. Martha Scrivner Dies

St. Charles, April 9, (Special)

Mrs. Martha Scrivner, an old pioneer resident of South township, passed away at her home, north of town, March 30. She contracted the flu which rapidly developed into pneumonia and owing to her advanced years and the severity of the attack, the end came quickly. She was a lady of many fine qualities and will be sadly missed in the community.

Two sons, Albert and Robert and several grandchildren survive; also two sisters, Mrs. E. E. Pomeroy of St. Charles, Mrs. Belle Jolly of St. Joseph, Mo., and one brother, J. G. Martin of Patterson.

Burial was made at Blair Chapel beside her husband, who passed away several years ago.
