John William Weaver

John William Weaver, the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Weaver, was born at Patterson, Iowa, May 22, 1875. His boyhood was spent on the farm west of Patterson. He was married to Miss Dora Woods of Des Moines on April 24, 1915. To them was born one daughter, Mrs. Floyd Wright of Winterset. After an illness of two years he died at the University hospital, Iowa City, on March 11th, 1931, aged about 56 years.

He is survived by six sisters and one brother: Mrs. Jennie Whitney, Alva, Nebraska, Mrs. Andrew Porter of Lorimor, Joseph Weaver, Gretna, Nebraska, Mrs. Lee Bowman, Winterset, Mrs. Cora Hittenmark, Marshalltown, Mrs. Frank Thornburg, Booneville, Iowa, and Mrs. John Mackerl, Barron, Wisconsin.

He united with the Methodist church of Patterson when eighteen years old. The wide circle of friends and relatives are deep in their bereavement yet hope in the resurrection of justified in Christ Jesus.

The funeral was held at the Methodist church at Patterson last Friday, March 13, 1931, the Rev. W. C. Porter of Winterset in charge. A quartet, Mrs. John Potter, Mrs. Fern Fogler, Albert Stiles, Ray Folwell sang. Mrs. Willard Murren was pianist. Messrs. Chas. Stout, John Lull, Howard Lull, Chas. Pace, J. E. Salsbury, and C. McMurray were the pall bearers. Burial was made in the McGinnis cemetery in a lovely spot overlooking the place where he was born.
