John Taylor, who has been a severe sufferer from cancer of the face, the past year, died at his home in the west part of town last Thursday evening at nine o'clock. His funeral was held from the Christian church on Friday at one o'clock, conducted by Rev. Heltenstein and the body taken to St. Charles for burial. He is survived by his four children, Will Taylor of Carpenter, Wyoming, James Taylor of Des Moines, Anna Shepard of Shenandoah and Mrs. Ella Lyons, who lives south of town.

John N. Taylor was born Nov. 18, 1837, in Highland county, Ohio. He was united in marriage to Sarah Hughey, Oct. 19, 1861. To this union were born six children, two of whom with the mother, have gone before. Mr. Taylor went to Illinois, from Ohio in 1853, thence moving to Iowa in 1875. He has resided at Truro, for a number of years until his death which came peacefully, Oct. 6th. Mr. Taylor was 72 years, 10 months and 18 days old at the time of his death. He was a member of the Christian church at this place.
