1962EDITH CRAWFORD DIES AT 85 YEARS
Most of Her Long Life Was Spent in Madison County
Mrs. Edith B. Crawford of St. Charles died Saturday, Jan. 13 at a nursing home in that community. She was 85 years of age.
Mrs. Crawford was born at Coffeeville, Kan., but had lived most of her life in Madison county. She was a daughter of John and Laura McConahy Hubart.
She was married in 1892 to Perry Lathrum whose death occurred in 1928. Two years later she was married to Fred Crawford. He died in 1953.
Surviving ard four daughters, Mrs. Laura Hilton of New Virginia, Mrs. Jessie Day of Mayfield, Minn., Mrs. Ruth Dickson of Des Moines, and Mrs. Mabel Anderson of Des Moines. She also leaves four grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lillian Grimes of Bellflower, Calif.
Funeral services were held Monday from the St. Charles Methodist church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. W. C. Trembly. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
Note: the correct spelling for Hilton is Hylton.
