Vern Cox, Winterset

Funeral services for Vern Cox, 74, were held Thurs., Oct. 18 at Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter. Mr. Fisher died Mon., Oct 15 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset of a heart ailment.

Born October 30, 1915 in Des Moines, he was the son of Archie and Stella Cox. Mr. Cox worked as a tool and dye set-up worker for Emco Industries in Des Moines and he lived in Winterset for the past 18 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-daughter and a grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene; two sons, Jack of Des Moines and Ron of Bryant, Tex.; two step-sons, Mike Greer of Van Meter and Raymond Greer of Des Moines; a step-daughter, Janice Buelt of Fort Dodge; ten brothers, Ernest, Arthur, Norman, Frank, Donald, Richard, Eugene and LeRoy, all of Des Moines, Bob of Sioux City and Mervin of Broomfield, Colo.; a sister, Etta May Cox of Des Moines; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Van Meter Cemetery.
