Mildred Lenore Cooper, 74, of Winterset died from complications of a stroke June 28, 1998 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, July 1 at the First Christian Church in Winterset with Dr. Bobby G. Dickerson officiating. Burial was at McGinnis Cemetery in Patterson.
Mildred Cooper was born May 29, 1924, in Winterset to Dean and Lulu (Cummins) Glenn. She married John Armstrong on Sept. 24, 1945, in Missouri. She later married Byron Cooper on Jan. 29, 1972, in Omaha, Neb. A homemaker, Mildred was a lifetime resident of Winterset. She was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship and the First Christian Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, her second husband and one son, Larry Armstrong.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Armstrong of Des Moines and Rick Armstrong (wife Linda) of Winterset; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
