John F. Cook, St. Charles

Services for John F. Cook, 75, rural St. Charles, who died Feb. 14, at the Madison County Hospital, were held Friday, Feb. 17, at the Martensdale St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Zueles officiating. Burial was at the Wallace cemetery.

Born at DeSoto July 8, 1908, he was the son of John and Mary Beverage Cook. He was a lifetime resident of Madison County and married Jennie Rhoades July 1, 1946 in West Des Moines. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from the Marquette Cement plant in 1975.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Jack, Bill, and Floyd, all of rural St. Charles; daughters, Phyllis Croy and Carolyn Pollard, both of rural St. Charles; sisters, Dorothy Hank and Juanita Lane, both of West Des Moines, and Kathryn Thornburg of New Virgina; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
