Robert Ralph McClurg, 53, of Winterset, died Monday, May 26, 1997 of pulmonary arrest at Veteran's Hospital in Iowa City. The funeral was held Friday, May 30 at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with burial in Earlham Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by Kuhn Funeral Home.

Mr. McClurg was born September 20, 1943 to Robert Lloyd and Ila M. Bricker McClurg of Van Meter. He attended and graduated from the DeSoto High School in 1961 and entered into the military and served for four years, retiring as a Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force.

Before moving to Winterset, Mr. McClurg lived in Minneapolis, Minn. for 25 years and was employed with the Pillsbury Food Company as a Senior Systems Analyst. He retired in 1990 to do some traveling.

Survivors include his parents; one sister, Carol Wachter of Urbandale; two nieces, Marti Wachter of Urbandale and Stacia Hochstetler of Adel; two nephews, Brady Wachter of Urbandale and Stephen Davenport of Des Moines; and two great-nieces, Brooke and Crystal Hochstetler of Adel.

Mr. McClurg was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Davenport and one brother, John McClurg.
