Helen Mildred Cook, 86, of St. Charles died April 12, 1995 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were April 14 at the St. Charles Parish Church with the Rev. Ed Poston officiating. Burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery.
She was born in Arispe on Dec. 20, 1908 to Arthur Allen and Louise (Wilson) DeLay. She married Martin James Cook on Oct. 26, 1946. She had been an elementary school teacher at Martensdale from 1960-71. She was a member of the Model Chapter Order of the Eastern Star at St. Charles; Past Matron's Club; V.F.W., Women's Auxiliary at Winterset; and a member of the St. Charles Parish Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother; and one sister.
Surviving relatives include one son, Jack Cook and wife Jo of Mt. Ayr; one daughter, Judy Williamson and husband Lon of St. Charles; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
