1962CHALMER COOK OF ST. CHARLES DIES
Life-Long Resident Here Was 85 Years of Age At Death
Chalmer W. Cook of St. Charles died last Wednesday, Jan. 10, at a Des Moines hospital. He was 69 years of age.
Mr. Cook was born near Earlham on April 21, 1892, a son of Peter and Olive Hadley Cook. His entire life was spent in Madison county. He engaged in farming for many years, and later served with the Iowa state agency for surplus property.
He was a member of the Friends church near Earlham.
He was married July 24, 1922, in Des Moines, to Ora Seams, who survives him. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Tressie Gowdey of Indianola, a step-sister, Mamie Wetrich of Whittier, California, and a step-brother, Fred K. Colby of Ames.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the St. Charles Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. W. C. Trembly. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
