Jake Conner, Cumming

Michael John "Jake" Conner, 76, of Cumming died of coronary heart disease Aug. 21, 2003, at his home.

A funeral mass was held Monday, Aug. 25, at St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Catholic Church of rural Cumming with Father Daniel Krettek officiating. Burial was at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Cemetery.

Jake Conner was born July 30, 1927, in Warren County to Stephen and Gertrude (Dooley) Conner. Jake, a farmer, had spent his lifetime in the Cumming area. He was a member of the National Farmers' Organization and St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Francis Conner, Andrew Conner, Vincent Conner and Austin Conner; and an infant sister, Mary Margaret Conner.

He is survived by two brothers, Clarence Charles Conner of Cumming and James Joseph Conner of Des Moines; and two sisters, Irene Rose Rosenburg of St. Paul, Minn., and Mary Katherene Snyder of Waukee.
