Clarence Conner, Cumming

Clarence Charles "C.C." Conner, 93 of Cumming died Sept. 9, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Knoxville.

A Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Sept. 13, at St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Catholic Church in rural Cumming with Father Mike McLaughlin and Father Daniel Krettek officiating. Burial was at St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Clarence Conner was born Jan. 31, 1912 in Warren County to Stephen and Gertrude (Dooley) Conner. A lifetime resident of the Cumming area, Clarence had farmed for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II, and a member of St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Francis, Andrew, Vincent, Austin and Michael Conner; and two sisters, Mary Katherine Snyder and, in infancy, Mary Margaret Conner.

He is survived by one brother, James Joseph Conner of Des Moines and one sister, Irene Rose Rosenberg of St. Paul, Minn.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Catholic Church.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
