Austin T. Conner, 66, of Cumming, died of a heart ailment Nov. 13, 1995 at the V.A. Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 16, 1995 at 1 p.m. Father John Lorenz will officiate the services and burial will be at the St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Cemetery in Madison County. Military graveside services will be held. Visitation will be Wednesday, noon-9 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home.
He was born in Warren County on March 22, 1929 to Stephen and Gertrude (Dooley) Conner. He was a farmer and a member of the St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Catholic Church in Madison County. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving relatives include six sons, Gerald L. Conner of Winterset, Thomas P. Conner of St. Charles, Dennis Conner of Cumming, Michael J. Conner of Winterset, Joseph Conner of Cumming and Andrew Conner of Cumming; two daughters, Debra Rose Niblo of Altoona and Laura Gertrude Brown of Norwalk; three brothers, Clarence Charles Conner of Cumming, James Joseph Conner of Cumming, and Michael John Conner of Cumming; two sister, Irene Rose Rosenburg of St. Paul, Minn., and Mary Katherene Snyder of Waukee; and 21 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Iowa Chapter of the Diabetes Association.
