April 1996Ora Adel Strong, 88, of Earlham, died April 17, 1996. Services were held April 20 at the Earlham Presbyterian Church, with burial in the Earlham Cemetery.
Mrs. Strong was born in Adel on Dec. 15, 1907, to Samuel and Daisy Fenn Hutzell. She married Sheldon Strong on May 1, 1932 in Maryville, Mo. She was active in her church and was the Sunday school secretary for several years and worked with the ladies aid organization.
Mrs. Strong is survived by her husband, Sheldon, of Earlham; one daughter, Mary Evelyn Johnson of Ankeny; one son, David Strong of Lakewood, Colo.; four sisters, Ethel Melton and Arol Fiscel of Adel, Mabel Barnett of Earlham and Violet White of Des Moines; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Strong was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, Ralph, Harold, Carl, Lloyd, Roy, Lawrence and Maurice Hutzell; a sister, Lela McCarty, and a great-grandson, Jacob Johnson.
