April 1996Ben David Stonehocker, 63, of Earlham, died April 6, 1996, of cancer at his home. Graveside services were held April 10 at the Panther Creek Cemetery near Adel.
Mr. Stonehocker was born June 25, 1932, at Brighton, Colo., the son of Chester and Alma Stonehocker. He married Connie Waddingham on Aug. 6, 1988 in Winterset. He lived in the Redfield area, Lorimor and Macksburg before moving to Earlham in November of 1995. He was a member of the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from his job as a coast-to-coast truck driver in 1976 because of health reasons. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; three daughters, Vickie Stonehocker of San Diego, Calif.; Diana Stonehocker of Adel and Alma, at home; three sons, Merlyn of Albuquerque, N.M.; Kenny of Redfield and Tim of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Lloyd and Carl, both of Redfield, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Howard, Les, Walt and Pete.
