WILLIAM WOODRUFF, Cumming

William Charles Woodruff, 75, of Cumming died of a heart ailment June 9, 2002, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 12) at the Norwalk United Methodist Church with Pastors Dwayne Madsen and Jerry Oliver officiating. Burial was at Union Chapel Cemetery, South Township, Madison County.

William Woodruff was born July 29, 1926, in Watertown, S.D., to Charles Arthur and Elsie (Irhke) Woodruff. He married Audrey Marie Lyon on Aug. 17, 1947, in Des Moines. A graduate of Norwalk High School, he spent most of his lifetime in the Des Moines area, moving to Cumming one and one-half years ago. William owned and operated a construction comany. He was a member of the Norwalk United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a sister.

He is survived by a son, Edwin Woodruff of Cumming; a daughter, Lana Hunter (husband Jack) of Pueblo, Colo.; and a sister, Dorothy Oliver of Warren County.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
