Sylvia Schoenenberger, 85, of Winterset, died of a heart ailment March 1, 1996 at the Winterset Care Center South. Funeral services were March 4 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Bobby Dickerson officiated the services and burial was at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Madison County.

She was born March 2, 1910 in Earlham to John W. and Ardelia (Lamb) Mabbitt. She had retired from working at the Christensen Laundry. She was a lifetime resident of Madison County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include one brother, Wesley Mabbitt of Topeka, Kan.; and two sisters, Vada Criss of Topeka, Kan., and Irene Kephart of Winterset.
