Marion L. Coghlan, Winterset

Services for Marion L. Coghlan, 70, Winterset, who died March 2 at his residence were held Friday, March 4, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery with military graveside services provided by VFW Post No. 8142.

Born Jan. 10, 1918 at Peru, he was the son of Arnold and Frona Lilly Coghlan. He was a lifetime resident of Madison County and married Christine Bennett on Jan. 30, 1943 at Yakima, Wash. Mr. Coghlan who was retired from the Martin-Marietta Quarry, was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a World War II army veteran and a member of the local VFW post.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry of Altoona; brothers, Curtis of Creston and Lowell of Junction City, Kan.; a sister, Rosemary Adams of Ames; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Jim and Rose Seiferd, who raised him since age 11; two brothers and an infant sister.
