HARRY M. WIGHT, Winterset

Services for Harry M. Wight, 85, Winterset, who died Dec. 19, 1983, at the Madison County Hospital, will be held Thursday, Dec. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Madison County Dec. 3, 1898, he was the son of Arch and Mata Hart Wight. He farmed most of his life and retired in 1963. He was a member of the Oak Grove E.U.B. Church until 1966 and then became a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Wight served on the first school board of the reorganized Winterset Community School District.

On June 8, 1921, he married Gladys Simpson. She survives along with a son, Bernard of Winterset; daughters, Doris Alexander and Norma Greenwood, both of Winterset, and Marjorie Wohlwend of Lake Orion, Mich.; sisters, Dorothy Morford of Earlham, Ruby Lull of Palm Springs, Calif., and Lois Peters of Greeley, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three great-grandchilcren.
