MARY STRABLE, St. Charles

Mary Strable, 71, of St. Charles, died of a heart ailment May 22, 1996 at the Community Care Center in Winterset. Funeral services were May 24 at the Assumption Church in Churchville. The Rev John O. Bertogli and Father Frank Palmer officiated the services and burial was at the Blair Chapel Cemetery in Madison County.

She was born in St. Mary's on Aug. 13, 1924 to Thomas Joseph and Agnes (Donahoe) Wiedmann. She married Paul Strable on May 20, 1950 at the Assumption Church in Churchville. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of St. Charles. She was a member of the Buzzin' Dozen Card Club; Altar and Rosary Society; Bevington Garden Club; and the Assumption Church in Churchville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, one brother and one grandchild.

Surviving relatives include three sons, John Strable and wife Deb, Ivan Strable and wife Connie, and Dan Strable and wife Regina, all of St. Charles; two daughters, Rita Sue Marso and husband Jim of Bode and Marie Fitch and husband Rod of Des Moines; one brother, Pat Wiedmann of Prole; three sisters, Ellen Dooley of Martensdale, Margaret McLaughlin of Cumming and Alice Harkin of Des Moines; and 18 grandchildren.
