PAUL W. STRABLE, St. Charles

Services for Paul W. Strable, 72, St. Charles, who died February 22, 1990, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, were held Sat., Feb. 24 at the Church of Assumption at Churchville with the Rev. John F. Lorenz officiating. Burial was at the Blair Chapel Cemetery.

Born in St. Charles on November 29, 1917, he was the son of William and Isabelle Banta Strable. He attended grade school at Bevington and graduated from high school at St. Charles. He was married May 20, 1950 to Mary Wiedmann at Churchville and the couple had five children.

Mr. Strable was a farmer and auctioneer for 55 years and was a past member of the school board at I-35 for 14 years. He was a charter member of the St. Charles Lions Club and a member of the Church of Assumption at Churchville.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughters, Rita Marso and husband Jim of Bode; and Marie Fitch of Polk City; sons, John and wife, Deborah, and Ivan Strable and wife Connie, all of St. Charles, and Dan and wife Regena of Longview, Texas; a brother, Wayne of Seattle, Wash.; and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother and a sister.
