James (Jim) M. Coen, Prole

A funeral mass for James (Jim) M. Coen, 56, was held Thurs. Feb. 28 at St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Catholic Church with the Father John Frost officiating. A Scripture service and rosary were also held Thursday at Collins Funeral Home, Winterset. Mr. Coen died February 25 at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines.

A resident of Madison County for most of his life, he was born December 18, 1935 to Charles William and Hilda Irma (Murry) Coen and married Linda Nelson May 1, 1982 at St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Church where he was a member. He was a U.S. Army peacetime veteran.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife of Prole; his mother of Winterset; a daughter, Katie Coen at home; two brothers, Rex and wife, Mary of Plattsmouth, Neb. and Ted and wife, Doris of St. Joseph, Mo.; and a sister, Connie Cain and husband Don of Redfield.

Burial was at Montpelier Cemetery, Patterson. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
