40-Year-Old Winterset Man Had Been in Poor Health Many Years
Raymond A. Clopton, a life-long resident of Winterset, died here Sunday at the home of his parents. He was 40 years of age and had been in failing health for many years.
Mrs. Clopton was born in Winterset on July 18, 1902, the son of Isaac and Elizabeth Clopton. He was one of a family of 12 children. One brother, Herbert Clopton, preceded him in death in 1936.
He is survived by his parents; four brothers, Fred Clopton of Macon, Mo., Robert Clopton of Winterset, Haymond Clopton of Macon, Mo., and Gaymond Clopton of Van Meter; and six sisters, Mrs. Manford Flynn of Kansas City, Mrs. Doris DeBok of Winterset, Mrs. Ivan Diffenbaugh of Kansas City, Mrs. Nellie Carr of Des Moines, Mrs. Vina Baird of Leon, and Mrs. W. A. Woodford of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from Anderson's funeral home in charge of the Rev. W. A. Samp, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
