MRS. M. E. CLINE SERVICES SUNDAY

Victim of Highway Crash Buried in Winterset Cemetery

Funeral services were held here Sunday for Mrs. M. E. Cline, who was killed last Friday in the highway collision west of Winterset.

The services were held from the Richards Funeral home conducted by the Rev. Earl Streyfeller. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Cline was the former Pearle E. Linn, daughter of Aaron and Capitola Linn, and was born Dec. 2, 1882, on a farm in Madison county. She was married April 14, 1904 to Merton E. Cline. Their entire married life was spent in Jackson township. They were parents of one daughter, Rosalynd Ruth, who died in 1930. The husband and father died in 1954.

She was a member of the Webster Methodist church and was active in the W.S.C.S. since its founding.

She is survived by three sister, Mrs. Blanche Heichel of Dexter, Mrs. Lavona Lowden of Truro and Mrs. Ruth Faust of Mr. Ayr.

Mrs. Pearl Cline Killed in Crash

Mrs. Pearl Cline, 73, Dexter, was killed Friday evening in the collision of an auto and a pickup truck on Highway 92, about seven miles west of Winterset.

She was riding with Mrs. John Holtmyer, Dexter, when the Holtmyer car collided with an east-bound pickup driving by Harold H. Mayer, Winterset. Mrs. Holtmyer was taken to a hospital with cuts and bruises.

Highway Patrolman Jack Beaman said Mayer made a left turn into his driveway as the cars met and that a charge of failure to yield half of the highway was being filed against him. -----Des Moines Register

Services Held Sunday for Mrs. Pearl Cline

Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Cline, 73, of Dexter, were held Sunday afternoon at the Richards Funeral Home at Winterset.

Mrs. Cline was fatally injured Friday in a two-car collision, seven miles west of Winterset. The driver of the car in which Mrs. Cline was riding, Mrs. John Holtmeyer, was injured, but not hospitalized.

Harold Mayer, the driver of the other car, a pickup is in the hospital at Winterset.

Mrs. Cline’s husband preceded her in death in 1954. Three sisters and several nieces and nephews survive.
