JOHN CLINE DIED HERE LAST SATURDAY

Services Held Saturday for Life-Long Resident Of County

John E. Cline, a life-long resident of Madison county died last Friday, Oct. 10, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 79 years of age. He had been in failing health recently, and was stricken with paralysis about 24 hours before his death.

Mr. Cline was a son of David and Mary Welch Cline. He was born in Douglas township on Sept. 30, 1879. His life was spent in farming. He lived with his parents until his father's death in 1925, then sold the farm and worked as a farm hand until retiring in 1945. Ten years ago he came to Winterset to live with his sister, Mrs. Nora Miller. After her death he entered a nursing home here.

Nearest surviving relatives are nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning from St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. John Higgins. Burial was made in the Stringtown cemetery.
