Esther Maxine Grimes, 76, of Earlham, died May 12, 1995 at her residence. Funeral services were May 15 at the Earlham Church of Christ. Pastor Ted Morelock officiated the services and burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.

She was born in Earlham on Sept. 15, 1918 to John William and Lela Henrietta (Ellston) Frederick. She married Richard Stanley Grimes on July 21, 1945. She was a lifetime resident of Earlham. She was a homemaker and a supervisor for Look Magazine. She was a member of the Earlham Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother; and one infant granddaughter.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Sheryl Arnburg of Earlham and Beverly Wood of Omaha, Neb.; one son, Richard Grimes of Earlham; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Earlham Church of Christ Building Fund.

Esther M. Grimes, daughter of John and Lela Ellston Frederick, was born September 15, 1918 on the family farm south of Earlham. She passed away Friday May 12, 1995 at her home with her beloved family present.

On July 21, 1945 Stanley & Esther were united in marriage. They were blessed with three children: Sheryl, Richard and Beverly.

Throughout her life, Esther was known to many for her servanthood. Her joy of life was giving to and loving and helping others. Her greatest reward was sharing in joy and burdens of her family. Her love was great. “Her children arise and call her blessed”, Proverbs 31:28.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, and infant granddaughter.

Her survivors include the following: her children, Sheryl and Gary Arnburg of Earlham, Richard and Nikki Grimes of Earlham, and Beverly Wood of Omaha, Nebraska; her grandchildren: Angela and Lance Ridgely, Andrew and Michelle Arnburg, Amy and Steven Willem, Abigail Arnburg, Tom and Stacy Taylor, Kristy Grimes, Richie Grimes, Joseph and David Wood; her great-grandchildren: Garryson Ridgely, and Brianna Arnburg.

Interment in Earlham cemetery.
