1995Scott Day, Jr., 72, of Winterset, died Feb. 7, 1995 at the Winterset Care Center North in Winterset. Funeral services were Feb. 10 at the Penn Center United Methodist Church in Earlham. Pastor Harold Koughn officiated the services with burial at the Penn Center Cemetery in Earlham.
He was born Feb. 4, 1923 in LaJuanta, Colo., to Scott Sr. and Anna Viola (Rufenacht) Day. He married Florence Morford in 1946 and they had lived 43 years in the Earlham Community. He was a broker and a member of the Penn Center United Methodist Church in Earlham; a member of the Masonic Lodge 568 AF & AM, and the Earlham Eastern Star Lodge 294.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Surviving relatives include his wife; five sons, Morgan Day of Greenfield, Scott Day III of Wellman, Fred Day of Earlham, Jon Day of Howell, N.J., and Jack Day of Coon Rapids; one daughter, Lynn Ann Margheim of Mitchell, Nebr.; two sisters, Myrtle Herrick of Topeka, Kan., and Jolena Clason of Glendale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Penn Center Church or the Madison Masonic Lodge 568.
