Roxie Weeks Clarkson, 90, of Carlisle, died April 5, 1994 at the Carlisle Care Center. Funeral services were April 8, 1994 at Collins Funeral Home with Dr. George Lair officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born May 24, 1903 in Kenner, Ark. to Minnie Weeks. She married John Walter Clarkson September of 1928 in Adel.

She lived most of her life in Winterset until moving 13 years ago to the Carlisle Care Center. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one step-son; and one brother.

Surviving relatives include one son, Philip Clarkson of Waterloo; three daughters, Darlene Eklov of Des Moines, Barbara Schall of Creighton, Neb., and Irene Carver of Longboat Key, Fla.; two step-sons, Harold Clarkson of Winterset and Robert Clarkson of Stockton, Mo.; two step-daughters, Dottie McDonald of Sac City and Nayda Johnson of Central City, Neb.; one half-brother, Ramsey Grabeel of Shawnee, Okla.; two half-sisters, Hazel Werremeyer of Stockton, Mo. and Thelda Hutchison of Shawnee, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren, one being Jack Clarkson whom was raised by Roxie; 28 great-grandchildren; 28 step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and 27 step-great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church or Alzheimer's Research Center.
