LESLIE H. GARMON, Farm Tractor Fatality

Leslie H. Garmon, a well known resident of the Truro community, was fatally injured last Wednesday when the tractor he was operating upset and pinned him underneath in a field at his farm a mile south of Truro.

Mr. Garmon had left the house about 10 a.m. His body was found abut 2 p.m. by a neighbor, Rick Fenimore, who had been called to search for him.

Mr. Garmon was 70 years of age. A son of William B. and Laura Jane Bell Garmon, he was born at Patterson Jan. 4, 1902. He attended school at Lamoni and Garden City, Mo.

He was married at Osceola Jan. 13, 1922, to Ruth Fulton, who survives him.

His active life was spent in farming. He was a member of the Christian church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Dorothy Garmon of Des Moines; a brother, John Garmon of Truro; and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Nolin of Ames.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Richard Hempenius. Burial was made in the Hartman cemetery.
