John Westphal

A funeral for John Westphal, 80, of Earlham was held March 11, 1993 at Trinity Lutheran Church at Van Meter, with burial following at the church cemetery. Mr. Westphal died of pneumonia on March 7 at Madison County Hospital at Winterset.

Mr. Westphal was born at Van Meter and had lived in the Earlham area for 58 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; a son, John of West Des Moines; two daughters, Janice Kirk of West Des Moines and Patricia Spillers of Elk City, Okla; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
