CARL E. PATTERSON, West Des Moines

Carl Eugene Patterson, 80, of West Des Moines died Jan. 17, 1999, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk of complications of Parkinson's disease.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 20) at Kale Funeral Home in Truro with the Rev. Tom Allen officiating. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.

Carl Patterson was born Feb. 25, 1918, to Artie and Leota (Lamb) Patterson of Truro. He was raised and educated in Truro. He married Mae Waring on March 7, 1942, in Bethany, Mo. They lived in Truro before moving to Norwalk, where they resided for 15 years, followed by 28 years in Urbandale and the last two years in West Des Moines. He was a warehouseman for Sears Roebuck and Company in Des Moines for 20 years, retiring in 1980. Carl was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and the Congregationsl United Church of Christ in Truro.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Craig Patterson (wife Sandie) of Des Moines and Dennis Patterson (wife Becky) of Clive; and three grandchildren.
