Mrs. Kenneth Smith, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Brady, of Monroe township, died Friday, March 15th, at the hospital in Creston, after an illness of several months with cancer and complications. She was 26 years of age.

Mrs. Smith was born in Monroe township, May 5, 1902, and was graduated from the rural school in her home district. She attended high school at Macksburg, where she made many friends.

On September 27, 1922, she was married to Kenneth Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith, of Macksburg. It is said that her pleasing disposition and anxiety to attend her home duties made this home an attractive place for their relatives and friends.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, father and mother, one brother and three sisters: Ora Brady, of Macksburg; Mrs. M. A. Cox, of Morgan, Minnesota; Mrs. E. B. Harrell, of Peru, and Mrs. Daniel Silverthorn, of Lorimor. One brother, Lee, preceded her in death in 1897. She also leaves many other relatives and friends.

Her cordial greetings and pleasant smiles which seemed to always be present will be missed by all who knew her and the people of Macksburg and community feel as if they had suffered a real loss.

The Rev. Eugene Alexander conducted the funeral services Tuesday, March 19th, at 2 o'clock, in the Methodist church at Macksburg, and burial was in the Moon cemetery.
