Max E. Chatfield, a life-time resident of Winterset, died Thursday, June 28, at his home here. He was 57 years of age.
Mr. Chatfield was born in Winterset Feb. 5, 1916, a son of Levi and Gertrude Smuck Chatfield. During his active life he was engaged in advertising sales work.
He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are two brothers, Harold Chatfield of Hollywood, Calif., and Elvin R. Chatfield of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset with the Rev. James D. Wright of Des Moines officiating. Burial was made with military honors at the Winterset cemetery.
