After moving with her parents to the Early Chapel neighborhood, she transferred her membership to the Early Chapel Church of Christ. She remained a member of the church until her death.

She spent the greater part of her life at the farm home of her parents, she and her mother moving to Winterset after the death of her father.

She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Charley; and is survived by her mother, Mrs. Annis Clampitt of Winterset; her two sisters, Mrs. T. A. Tilton of Winterset, and Mrs. Lester Piatt of Earlham, and her two brothers, R. L. Clampitt of Greenfield, and Frank Clampitt of Earlham. She also leaves 10 nieces and nephews.

Throughout her lifetime she was considered by her friends, as one always willing and desiring to giving her time and help without thought of gain for herself. This wonderful characteristic has time and time again been indelibly stamped in our heats by her helpful and thoughtful deeds, her cheerful smile and sunny disposition was an inspiration.

The following quotation, found in her Bible, was written by Nelle and so appropriately shows, even now, her complete lack of selfishness known so well to all her friends.

"Weep not for me, nor wish me back
I'm from pain set free,
and in our Saviour's arms I rest,
That's where I long to be."
Nelle
