Jake Christensen, Winterset

Services for Jake Christensen, 81, Winterset, who died Dec. 3 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Audubon County, on Sept. 27, 1905, he was the son of Nis and Louise Frost Christensen. On July 27, 1926, he married Emma Huston at Barney.

Mr. Christensen lived most of his life in Madison County and was retired from the laundry business.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Donald of Des Moines, Loren of Simi Valley, Calif., and Bill of Winterset; a brother, Clarence of Greenfield; a half-sister, Esther Wallace of Creston; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
