Miriam Chipperfield, Winterset

Services for Miriam Chipperfield, 79, Winterset, who died at Care Center North Aug. 29 where she resided, were held Friday, Aug. 31 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Omaha Cemetery and the body was donated to the anatomical board of the state of Nebraska.

Born at Sioux City on March 21, 1905, she was the daughter of Robert and Maude Peebles Chipperfield. She had lived in Winterset since April of 1984, coming from Omaha. She retired in 1969 from the Donor Recruitment Red Cross Blood Bank in Omaha and had been instrumental in organizing the blood bank there.

Mrs. Chipperfield was a one-time school principal at Cherokee, Iowa.

Survivors include sister, Elizabeth Shambaugh and Ruth Ryan, both of Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
