MRS. OTIS CHEW DIES AT 78 YEARS

Funeral Service Scheduled For This Wednesday Afternoon

Mrs. Otis Chew of Winteset died Sunday, Feb. 28, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 78 years of age.

Mrs. Chew had been a resident of Madison county most of her life. She was the former Grace Catherine Campbell, daughter of Benjamin N. and Ella Lynch Campbell, and was born at Beatrice, Nebr., on Oct. 12, 1886.

As a young woman she was married to Ernest W. Travis. They made their home in Winterset for many years, until his death in 1931. On Dec. 31, 1936, she was married at Indianola to Otis H. Chew, who survives her.

She was a member of the Methodist church, and the Rebekah Lodge.

Surviving in addition to her husband are five children, Glenn W. Travis of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Ruth Henry of Winterset, Mrs. Eloise Allen of Winterset and Ernest J. Travis of Maxwell; three step-children, Earl Chew of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Esther Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and John M. Chew of Lorimor; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Arthur A. Campbell of Winterset.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. William E. Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church here. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
