Page 2LEE CHACE OF WINTERSET DIES
F. Lee Chace of Winterset, a resident of Madison county most of his life, died Saturday, June 1, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 84 years of age.
Mr. Chace was born in Douglas township Dec. 8, 1883, a son of W. A. and Viola Rutledge Chace. With the exception of six years in South Dakota, his life was spent in Madison county. His early life was spent in farming. In 1944 he moved into Winterset, and had followed the carpenter trade here.
He was a member of the West Star Methodist church.
He was married Feb. 22, 1905, to Nota Stark, who survives him. He also leaves two sons, Clarence Chace of Long Beach, Calif., and Cecil Chace of Hawthorne, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Sorenson of Avon Lake, O.; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Edna Griffith of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Everett K. Burham, pastor of the First United Methodist church of Winterset. Burial was made in Chase-McDonald cemetery.
