May Caudle, Winterset

Services for May Caudle, 86, rural Winterset, who died March 13 at Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Saturday, March 16, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Nicholson officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Madison County Jan. 19, 1899, she was the daughter of Perry and Laura Petersen Olsen. Mrs. Caudle was a lifetime resident of the area, and a member of the Van Meter United Methodist Church, the Van Meter North River U.B. Ladies Aid, and the Town and Country Club.

She was married to Leslie Caudle in Madison County in August of 1921.

Survivors included sons, Loren and Phil, both of Winterset; a daughter, Sue Poe of West Des Moines; a brother, Kenneth Olsen of Winterset; a sister, Helen Cook of Biloxi, Miss., eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a daughter, sister and grandson.
