MRS. REUBEN LECOCQ ENDS LIFE CHRISTMAS

Mrs. Reuben Lecocq, wife of a well-known farmer of Union township, ended her life by hanging at her home on Christmas morning. Coroner A. A. Richards termed the death suicide. Mrs. Lecocq was 41 years old.

The family of Mrs. Lecocq were unable to give any reason for her act. She had been missing from the house only a few minutes when the body was found in the garage by her husband.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Claude and Ward Lecocq. She was born and lived most of her life near Lorimor. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Will Davis.

The funeral was to be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from Ramsey-Richards funeral home, under the Rev. Christ. Burial was to be in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. R. D. Lecocq

Ethel May Davis, daughter of William and Laura Davis, was born at Fort Dodge, October 19, 1893, and moved with her parents to Union county at the age of six where she resided until her marriage November 26, 1914. Two sons were born to them.

Those who survive are her husband, R. D. Lecocq and Claude Martin LeCocq, Mr. and Mrs. Ward LeCocq and Sherley LeCocq, three sisters and three brothers, Elsie Martin, Creston; Mattie Carpenter, Hastings, Nebraska; Opal Porter, Winterset; Charlie Davis, Lorimor; Clarence Davis, Brookings, South Dakota; John Davis, Shenandoah. She was a wonderful mother to her children and a devoted wife.

Services were conducted by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Church of Christ, Thursday afternoon, December 20, at two o’clock at the Ramsey–Richards funeral home.
