Services for Dulcie V. Carter, 87, Des Moines, a former Macksburg resident who died Monday, Sept. 24 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Saturday, Sept. 29, at Westover Funeral Home with burial at the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg. The body was cremated.
Survivors include sons, Leslie Busch and wife Mary of Long Beach, Calif., and Douglas Busch and wife JoAnn of Macksburg; daughters Maxine Swanger and husband Leland of Creston, Irma Hintermeister of Des Moines, Ruby Crow of Leon, Phyllis Frasier and husband Jack of Des Moines; a sister, Ethel West of Des Moines; a brother, Jerrie Moore of Greenfield; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great great grandson and seven stepchildren.

Services for Dulcie Velma Carter, 87, of 1800 36th St., West Des Moines, who died of cancer Monday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Westover Funeral Home. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery in Macksburg. Mrs. Carter was born in Madison County and lived in Macksburg most of her life.
She retired in 1945 from teaching elementary school in rural Macksburg. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Macksburg and the Rebekah Lodge in Des Moines.
Survivors include two sons, Leslie Busch of Long Beach, Calif., Douglas Busch of Macksburg; four daughters, Maxine Swanger of Creston, Irma Hintermeister of Des Moines, Ruby Crow of Leon, and Phyllis Frasier of Des Moines; a sister, Ethel West of Des Moines; a brother, Jerrie Moore of Greenfield; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; and seven stepchildren.
