Harold L. "Jack" Carter, 89, of Winterset died of cancer Thursday at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church, with burial in Winterset Cemetery.
Mr. Carter was born in Clarke County and moved to Winterset in 1974. He had been a farmer and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma; two sons, Richard of Oregon and Howard of Winterset; a daughter, Kathy Spradlin of Kansas; a sister, Annis Jones of Murray; three brothers, Ira of Springhill, Harvey of Diagonal and Laurell of Fort Smith, Ark.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at Kale Funeral Home in Truro, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
