Eleanor L. Carpenter, Winterset

Eleanor L. Carpenter, 65, of Winterset died of heart failure Oct. 15, 2001, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Church of the Nazarene in Winterset with the Rev. William Branson officiating. Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.

Eleanor Carpenter was born March 5, 1936, to Paul and Marjorie (Huss) Oglesbee. Having worked in health care for most of her life, she had been employed at Madison County Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide and receptionist. Eleanor was a lifetime resident of Madison County.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

She is survived by three sons, Roger Carpenter (wife Cheryl) of Hanover Park, Ill., Scott Carpenter (wife Annie) of Dexter and Steve Carpenter (wife Susanna) of Winterset; three sisters, Margaret Libby (husband Dale) of West Plains, Mo., Dorothy Libby (husbnad Ernie) of St. Charles and Madge Meisters (husband Dave) of Mitchellville; two brothers, Mack Oglesbee (wife Sue) of Mercer Mo., and Wayne Oglesbee of Winterset; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Eleanor's family.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
