MRS. W. G. DORRELL

Sarah Landis, daughter of Joseph and Orinda Landis, was born in Holmes county, Ohio, Jan. 19, 1837 and died at her home in Winterset, Nov. 1, 1921, aged 84 years, 9 months and 13 days.

When a small child, she moved with her parents to Madison county, Iowa, where she resided until her death. On Nov. 29, 1855, she was united in marriage to Wilson G. Dorrell and to this union were born nine children: John and Harvey of Des Moines, Will and Warren - now deceased, Joseph of Minden, Nevada; Mrs. Florence Pursell of Winterset, Sarah, who died in infancy; Conda of Virginia, Minn., and Mrs. Lillie Bragg of Oakland, Calif.

During the 66 years of marriage she was a faithful wife, a kind and loving mother, and wil be greatly missed by friends and relatives alike. When just a child she united with the Methodist church, but later joined the Baptist church after coming to Winterset and continued to be a member and worker until her departure for a better land. Only a part of the children were able to be with her during her long illness, but they did all they could to make her last days comfortable.

Besides the aged husband and children, she leaves a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of friends.

The flowers presented by the employees in the state treasurer's office were especially beautiful. Rev. Geo. D. Rogers conducted funeral services at the church.
